Hyperfibre — New Zealand’s fastest broadband,

at speeds of 2000 Mbps, 4000 Mbps, and 8000 Mbps.

Fibre provides a fast and stable internet connection, making it the most popular broadband option in New Zealand. It’s taken to a whole new level with Hyperfibre.

Hyperfibre is the essence of a smooth online experience, with speeds up to 40 times quicker than the average New Zealand broadband connection.

Hyperfibre’s speed and capacity at home ensure that no matter how much ultra-high definition video, smart appliances, cloud storage, video uploads, advanced gaming, working from home, or other connected devices you have in the house, your internet connection will be rock solid.

Hyperfibre’s exceptionally low latency makes it ideal for high-performance software applications that rely on real-time communication and high-resolution photos in the workplace. Hyperfibre has the potential to usher in a new era of digital creativity and innovation in the workplace, resulting in the creation of new goods and services as well as increased productivity.

What’s more, what’s the nicest feature about Hyperfibre? It is now available in all locations where the fibre network was deployed as part of the UFB project’s first stage (which is over 80 percent of New Zealand). So whether you’re in Ponsonby or Timaru, you’ll have access to some of the world’s best broadband connections.

  • Multiple gigabit downloads at the same time
  • Lower latency
  • Play and stream to your heart's content.
  • Take advantage of the most up-to-date Internet connection available.

More information on Hyperfibre

Broadband connections based on Hyperfibre technology will be accessible statewide starting in October 2020, if your region already has access to the Ashnet fibre network as part of the UFB project’s first stage. To see if it’s available in your area, use the Ashnet broadband checker.  you need to dig up my street?

A Hyperfibre link does not require any construction because it still uses the Ashnet fibre network, which is already underground. However, a technician will need to come to your location and replace your ONT (optical network terminal) with a new one that can handle Hyperfibre speeds. It’s simple and may be completed in an one visit.

When Hyperfibre becomes available in your area, you’ll be able to place your purchase directly with your favorite broadband provider. They’ll send your order to us, and we’ll make arrangements for your upgrade.

This upgrade will be split into two stages:

  1. At the local exchange, we link your fibre to our Hyperfibre network.
  2. We come to your house and replace your ONT (your home’s network terminal) with a new one that can handle Hyperfibre speeds.

* According to the Commerce Commission’s Measuring Broadband New Zealand (MBNZ) Spring 2021 report, the broadband speeds mentioned are national peak hour average speeds. Because Fibre 300 and Hyperfibre have yet to be evaluated by that report, the results indicate the maximum speeds that our wholesale network can achieve.

* These speed estimates are estimates, and your actual speeds will vary based on a variety of factors such as your internet plan, modem, house wifi configuration, and the capacity of your broadband provider’s network.
